A Bird In The Hand

One day a lion was walking through the woods when he spotted a rabbit sleeping under a bush.

The lion was about to eat the rabbit when he saw a deer run by.

So he left the rabbit and chased the deer, but the rabbit, awakened by the noise, ran away.

The lion chased the deer for a long time, but he couldn't catch it so he returned to the bush to get the rabbit. When he arrived there he found that the rabbit had gone too.

"It serves me right," he said, "for giving up the food I had in hope of getting something better."

MORAL: People often try to get something better, but in their haste they loose the things they already have. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Don't be greedy.
